FLAUNTING MY FLOWERS NOV 5, 2010

I don’t ever remember picking flowers from my garden in November, but this year is very unusual. There are still a few brave petunias, daisies, and rosebuds. Of course dusty miller and ornamental cabbages are quite hardy, so they are still nice. I made a little arrangement for my kitchen.

Over the summer I picked hydrangeas and dried them by leaving them in a vase with just a small amount of water, which evaporated as they dried.  I have gathered them together in a silver pedestal bowl.

And finally, a very pretty purple mum, in an arrangement given to me by a dear friend:

Now , pop over to Tootsie’s blog, the gal who hosts  “Flaunting your Flowers” every Friday.

I wish I had thought ahead to save some hydrangeas earlier this year. ! I think you have way more survivors in your gardens than I do this year. :)

Lovely hydrangea bunch. I don't think we can grow them well where we live in Central Florida. Enjoy!

Those colours are so bright and spring like. What is going on here? We are the same in BC with so much still blooming in the gardens.
I wish I could get enough blooms from my hydrangeas to make a pretty bouquet like yours.
Beautiful flowers...wish I could grow hydrangeas.

Hi Millie,
I can't believe I only found this today. I love your beautiful plants and flowers, hasn't this Fall weather been magnificent? I love it here, so much. Your hydrangias dried so nicely, I should have some to dry next year. I planted two Hydrangia shrubs this year. I want to try Dusty Miller next year, too. I desperately need some nice shade plants for my window boxes.
Hugs, Cindy
