Copycat!

Yep, I am a copycat today!
On a lovely evening in June we drove to the other end of our city to see the “Mennonite Girls” at McNally Robinson. I had already purchased their  newest cookbook,   “Celebrations” and was so happy that 8 of the 10 girls were there to sign it.
I think this is the only cookbook which can bring tears to my eyes …when I read the inspiring stories of families much like mine.
As I looked through the book, I noticed that one of the photos seemed vaguely familiar….a green ceramic tray was exactly like one I own.
“I can do that, I thought!…I have the tray, I have rhubarb”!…Rhubarb sorbet!
Here is a photo of the page from the book: (with my first attempt, using sparkling mango soda)005
Second time around: with club soda….

Second photo taken out on the deck.
Delicious!
I asked to have the back page signed…the Doxology…which for me, sums it all up!

Well done! I think your version is even better. Happy Tea Day!
Your version is a real pretty pink colour. I don't have their book but frequent the MGCC blog often and use some of their recipes.

Your copy cat is beautiful Millie. You did a great job on it and it's neat that you have the same ceramic tray. I have the new MGCC Cookbook too and I love it. It really is beautiful and a real treasure. How nice that you were able to attend the book signing too!
Millie, your copy cat version looks really good; especially that pink one! Such a pretty pink! How nice that you have the same tray. I have only visited that blog a few times and I must go pay them a visit again soon. So happy you could join me for tea this week, Millie! Thanks for sharing with us.

Blessings,
Sandi

Your tray looks marvellous! How fun that you had the same tray and were able to create a "copycat" version. It looks beautiful.
The plants that you gave me last fall are all coming along beautifully, but I have forgotten what they all are. Perhaps you could come by one day and tell me. It's time I have you over for tea again.
How fun that you were able to attend the book signing!
