More Contrasts

Image
I am looking back to summer, when we enjoyed lots of colour…it is all so WHITE now! These were taken in our yard today , and  back in the summer, from approximately the same vantage point. I am joining in with Mary’s Mosaic Monday .          (Click on photo to enlarge) ……..longing for summer here!…….

A Year of Precipitation!

Image
This has been quite a year for moisture here in Manitoba, and probably in your part of the world! This is a view from our front yard in June, when our street was like a small river,  and today. Summer view of the house: Today’s pile of snow, and we didn’t even have a strong wind to drift it… My husband has spent a great part of today raking the roof! There is flooding predicted for our Red River Valley this spring, so let’s hope we have a slow thaw…

No words today…just pictures…

Feeding Chickadees

Image
Our children and their families went on an outing to one of our Provincial Parks during the Christmas break. The walk through the woods had a purpose….now what could be in the coffee can??? (click to enlarge photos) Sunflower seeds, of course! The birds were very hungry, and it didn’t take long before they were eating out of their hands! Chick-a-dee-dee-dee..that’s what their song is… I like this…cell phone in one hand, and chickadee on the other. The birds also ate seeds off the girls’ heads, but we don’t have a photo of that. Family pet, Mac, enjoyed the day, too. All photos taken by our daughter, at Birds Hill Prov. Park.
