Tea and Macarons

On a lovely day last week, our Granddaughter spent the day with us. We had two goals; one was to sort out my Mom's jewelry, which we did with admiration of her choices, and memories shared.
Our second plan was to try our hand at making French Macarons. We had heard that they could be quite difficult, but both batches turned out very well.

After they were baked and filled, we had a cup of tea, and sampled the delicate cookies.
Lemon buttercream:
---and blackberry

Tea cups are my wedding china, Foley Devonshire, and the tea pot is Aynsley.

Precious time spent with your lovely granddaughter. Your Macarons are so delicate and pretty. I love your china and the tea pot.
Wishing you a nice week.
Oh my, those Macarons look lovely, especially the blackberry. Love the pink, Millie! Such pretty china too. Making memories with your granddaughter is very precious. I'm glad you two got to bake some treats together and sample them too. Wish I could join you. Thank you for joining me for tea this week and enjoy the first week of September, my friend.

Blessings,
Sandi
You gals did a great job on the macarons! I only made them once and they are finicky but oh so delicious!
Tea with a granddaughter (we have 4) is always a fun time for me too.
What special memories you made baking with your darling granddaughter, Millie. The macarons look beautiful and I'm sure you both enjoyed the fruits of your labor.
wow, those macarons look so pretty and very professional. The blackberry ones, especially, are a lovely color. My daughter and her cousin have fond memories of sorting through Grandma's jewelry, and playing dress up with it.
Lovely teapot and cups, Millie.

It looks like you had a wonderful time with your granddaughter! I hope she appreciates the time she gets to spend with you. I remember making cookies with my grandma all the time and how fun that always was :) The Macarons look delicious. Maybe you could post your recipe (if it's not a secret). Very nice pictures!
Millie, you all did a fabulous job with these! WO W!

Those look so delicious. I have heard they were hard to, so I buy mine. I love lemon best, so I may give them a whirl sometime. Your table is lovely. Extra special with a granddaughter!
