Calico Bean Pot






Our family loves this bean casserole. Our daughter is making it tonight for a "Supper Eight" ( an evening when our church family invites people they do not know very well, for a potuck dinner). She is doing a Texas Roadhouse theme.



Ingredients:

8 slices bacon
1 cup chopped onion
1 - 14 oz. (398 ml) can green beans, drained
1 - 14 oz. (398 ml) can lima beans, drained
1 - 14 oz. (398 ml) can pork and beans
1 - 14 oz. (398 ml) can kidney beans, drained
3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/8 tsp. pepper
Instructions:Cut bacon into small pieces and cook until crisp. Cook onion until soft. Add remaining ingredients in a large casserole (2 1/2 qt.). Bake at 350 F. for 1 hour, uncovered. Perfect with hamburgers or barbecued beef. Serves 12.
