Back to the 50’s Diner

At noon, after church, we headed out along the Red River to the “Half Moon” with our daughter and her family. The decor is very 50’s, and so is the food…good old fashioned foot-long hotdogs, fries, and hamburgers. Although it is not the sort of food we eat often, about once every summer, we enjoy a meal there. On warm summer evenings those folks who have classic and antique cars gather in the parking lot to admire each others’ shiny vehicles.

Here in Canada we like our fries with vinegar, as well as ketchup!!

I am joining Mary's mosaic Monday today.

It looks like a fun place and those fries look delicious. And I thought the English were the only people to use vinegar on their 'chips' :)

This is my first visit here and am I glad I stopped. Your vintage eatery looks like my kind of place. Who doesn't love the idea of burgers and fries once in awhile, especially from an old 50's Diner. AND did you have to show me that Rhubarb Upside Down Cake? Yummm I'm in WI and my rhubarb is no where near ready. Can't wait.

Hard to beat a good burger and fries - and the ambiance adds to the fun!

Those fries look yummy! I'm very picky about my fries - and like you, eat them with vinegar and ketchup - the only way!
I always think I would never make a good rich person. I don't really like the Chi-Chi food you see offered in the big restaurants. When I think of a desired plate I think of a cheeseburger, onion rings and big piece of double fudge cake. Oh, I can feel my waistline expanding. Thanks for sharing. Valerie

We have a diner on the Island like that too-only open in the summer though. I am looking forward to the summer places opening up again this month.

Hi Millie,
That looks like a fun place to visit for a hot dog! Your rhubarb cake looks delicious; love rhubarb myself! I must try that recipe if I can find the issue.

Blessings,

Mmmm...I love that place, we have yet to have anything other than icecream there, but we will one day. I love the old 50's diners, their decor is so bright and cheery. Hugs, Cindy S

Love those old diners! We ate at one called Lori's Diner in San Francisco in fall...and so enjoyed it.

I love those old diners like that. They probably played 50's music too. Sounds like a great time and great burgers too.
