Green Gables Tea

009-1I have never visited our lovely Canadian province of PEI but if I did, I would want to visit Green Gables.
When I was about 11, I read the “Anne” books, and imagined myself at the Lake of Shining Waters. etc.
I thought I should set out my wedding china, Foley Devonshire, for our tea.

The teapot is not matching, but the flowers are similar.
Before we have our tea. let’s have a glass of Marilla’s famous raspberry cordial, non-alcoholic, of course! We’ll use the pretty cordial glasses I found at the thrift store recently.
004-1
I always imagined lots of Queen Anne’s lace blooming on the island, and these placemats have a delicate border of what resembles that flower.
007-1
I can identify with the following quote!
Well, never mind. This day’s done and there’s a new one coming tomorrow, with no mistakes in it yet, as you used to say yourself. Just come downstairs and have your supper. You’ll see if a good cup of tea and those plum puffs I made today won’t hearten you up.”
-Anne of Avonlea, by L.M. Montgomery

I made these little jam puffs using choux pastry shells, with a dab of jam and cream cheese.

For the table, I picked some flowers from our garden today.

It’s a lovely warm day here in Manitoba, and I hope you are enjoying tea on a lovely day, wherever you are.

Millie! What a lovely flower garden you have. Just beautiful. Love your "Anne" tea setting, too. PEI is on my bucket list...
What a lovely garden you have, Millie! Your wedding china is just beautiful and looks splendid with the hydrangeas and jam puffs, not to mention the raspberry cordial! You are right about the Queen Anne's Lace! We had more of it around this year for some reason and it really is pretty. Lovely tea and thank you for joining me. Have a wonderful week, my friend.

Blessings,
Sandi

I like all the special details you put together for your Green Gables tea. The garden is full and colourful and no doubt a good place to gather flowers for a bouquet.
We had a pleasant sunny day in Ontario too with hot weather returning the rest of the week.

Your tea set is beautiful, and your garden looks fabulous! I can't believe the summer is nearly gone and I haven't been to see you once. I'm working five days a week now and my days are long... no time for fun anymore. :)
Have a wonderful week!
